Hello there, readers. This isn’t going to be a very long post, but I thought I’d just update you all on how the first three months of Fuller FM have gone. I’ll also give you a heads-up on what to expect from me in the near future.

I finished my first Football Manager 2019 story “Shades of Deep Purple” earlier this month, after four seasons in charge of Fiorentina. I really did enjoy that Italian adventure, even if it ended without me winning a single trophy. It seems that quite a few of you have as well.
As I’ve said before, I am planning to return to that save later in the year for a new story as manager of England, whom I took charge of after they failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. That story will probably start in around June or July, maybe a little bit earlier.
But what about the immediate future? Some of you will be pleased to hear that I will be dabbling in Italian football again for my next story. Here’s the twist: I’ll be playing “Championship Manager Italia” – one of the very first versions of the Championship Manager series, released way back in 1993.
The first part of this three-chapter, one-season mini-series will go live tomorrow (Wednesday 23 January) at 8:00am UK time. I used to publish new posts during the evening, but I’d be interested to find out what you think about my switching to a morning upload schedule.

I will return to FM19 next week, when I begin a new story that I am very excited about. In “Floreat Salopia”, I will take charge of Shrewsbury Town in League One, with the aim being to lead this unfashionable Midlands club into the Premier League for the first time.
“Floreat Salopia” will be a little different in style from “Shades Of Deep Purple”. There won’t be quite so many chapters per season (about 6-8, rather than 10-12), and those chapters will cover a slightly larger span of time. As such, I won’t go into enormous detail about every match, and I’ll instead devote more time to explaining how I develop Shrewsbury as a team – and as a club.
I’ve got plenty of ideas for other future content on this blog. I quite enjoyed writing guides on how to get more out of FM by setting up ‘Screen Flow’ and editing stadium and player names, as well as keeping your save files extra-safe. In the future, I’d like to do a few more of those, as well as posting reviews of other football management games – retro or contemporary – that I’ve played.
I’d be interested to read what you think about all that. I am always welcome to any feedback, whether positive or constructive.
This blog started last October and has already had over 5,000 total views, which is well above what I was expecting. Thanks to all of you who’ve been reading along, and special thanks to Cleon and The Wide Playmaker for helping spread the word on Twitter.
Speaking of that, I’m delighted to announce that you can now find Fuller FM on Twitter @Fuller_FM. Feel free to follow me to get updated when my blog posts go live.
Yes, I’m as surprised as you perhaps are that I’ve taken so long to get on Twitter. I’ve just never really had much need to use it up until now. Maybe I’ll one day be able to stretch my social media budget enough to put Fuller FM on Myspace and Bebo… or perhaps not. You can, though, also find me on Steam.
That’s all I’ve got to say for the moment. Thanks once more for reading, and I’ll see you again very soon.
