The Counties Championship

“The Counties Championship” was a unique Football Manager 2017 project published exclusively on Fuller FM from April to June 2020.

For this project, the English league structure was replaced by a Counties Championship, featuring 48 teams who each represented one of the English counties. These teams could only use players and staff members who were born or raised in their respective counties.

The teams were separated into four regional divisions of 12 teams, and they played each of their divisional rivals four times (two home, two away). The top four teams in each division advanced to the post-season play-offs, where the Counties Championship would be decided.

There was also a County Cup – a straight knockout competition featuring all teams, with no regionalisation.
