About

THE MAN

My name is Christopher, though you can call me Chris for short. I was born in Romford, Essex in 1990 – a year of World Cup penalty heartache for England. I have also been a massive football fan since 1998 – another year of World Cup penalty heartache for England.

I’ve supported Arsenal since the age of eight, mainly through a combination of Arsene Wenger’s first Double-winning side, and the fact that my father supported them in his younger years.

The first football match I attended live, however, was a Millwall home game against Leicester City in 2002. I have therefore followed the Lions as my second team since then.

My love affair with Championship Manager/Football Manager is almost as old as my passion for the sport itself. CM3 was the first version I ever played, way back in 1999, and I’ve been living my virtual managerial dreams ever since.

THE SITE

Fuller FM was launched in October 2018, as a platform to showcase my stories to the wider Football Manager community. I will also occasionally post guides and general musings about the game on this site, as well as reviews of other football management games.

I will not go into great detail about stuff such as tactics or player development. To tell you the truth, there are plenty of people in the community who cover those areas much better than I ever could.

THE STORIES

I began writing my first CM/FM career story when I was 13. It was about my CM4 save with Millwall, and although I took the Lions into the Champions League within just two seasons, the story itself was… mediocre at best. Nevertheless, it ignited a burning desire to one day produce a story worthy of public consumption.

In 2014, I began publishing my debut work – ‘Welcome to Romford’ – on the official Sports Interactive forums under the username CFuller.

‘WTR’ and its subsequent spin-offs, all based on my 30+ season career on FM13, are now among the most popular works posted in the FM Stories (FMS) sub-forum. My stories have won the following ‘awards’, as voted for by the FMS community:

  • ‘Another Night In Istanbul’: Short Story of the Year (2015), Best International Management Story of the Year (2015)
  • ‘Jeux Sans Frontières’: Fantasy Story of the Year (2016), Best International Management Story of the Year (2016)
  • ‘House of Flying Daggers’: Story of the Year (2017), English Story of the Year (2017, 2018, 2019)
  • ‘An Impossible Man’: Best Story Idea of the Year (2017), Best International Management Story of the Year (2018, 2019), Story of the Year (2019)
  • ‘Heart of Asia: Going Back to the 2002 World Cup’: Rest of the World Story of the Year (2018)
  • ’25 Years’: English Story of the Year (2022)

In addition, I was voted FMS Writer of the Year in 2018 and 2019.

All these stories are available on the SI forums, but you can also read all my finished stories here.
