Review: Soccer Manager 2026

It’s the game everyone has been talking about in recent weeks… and, oh boy, hasn’t it been divisive?

An experienced team of British developers have been working on their latest football management simulation for years – and the reception has been quite mixed. Some people think the new graphics engine is a huge step forward. Others think the devs have completely sold out to the mobile market, and that they only want to grab your money instead of giving you the full managerial experience.

Well, folks. I’m sure you’ve been waiting to read my opinions on this… so here they are.

This is my review for Soccer Manager 2026. Continue reading “Review: Soccer Manager 2026”

Review: Soccer Manager 2022

It’s that time of year again. For the fourth season in a row, I’ve had a look at the latest edition of the free-to-play Soccer Manager series.

Some of you might remember my previous Soccer Manager reviews. I wasn’t too hot on either SM19 or SM20, but I gave a more positive review of SM21, saying that I felt “the developers [were] finally steering this game in the right direction”.

Soccer Manager 2022 was released last November and can be downloaded from Steam right now (for mobile gamers, it’s also on Google Play and the App Store). But does it live up to its potential, or is it facing an early bath? Let’s take a closer look… Continue reading “Review: Soccer Manager 2022”

Review: Soccer Manager 2021

As great as the Football Manager series is, it’s sometimes worth having a look at the other football management games on the market. That’s why I’m back today with another of my occasional reviews.

My first game review on Fuller FM was two years ago this week, when I had a look at Soccer Manager 2019. I didn’t think much of that game, and neither was I too keen on Soccer Manager 2020 when I reviewed that last year.

Now, though, I think it’s time to find out whether the latest title in this free-to-play series is a major improvement, or another underwhelming experience. This is my honest review of Soccer Manager 2021 Continue reading “Review: Soccer Manager 2021”

Review: Soccer Manager 2020

Last spring, I started an occasional series here on Fuller FM where I review football management computer games from outside the Sports Interactive catalogue.

The very first game I reviewed was Soccer Manager 2019. I was pretty scathing of that game, particularly singling out its ‘ice-skating’ players and its obsession with microtransactions, and gave it only 2 stars out of 5. (That review also happened to be one of my most-viewed blog posts of 2019.)

The sequel has been on Steam for a while now, so I thought I’d see for myself if things have changed for the better over the past year. Here is my honest review of Soccer Manager 2020

Soccer Manager Worlds: Game, Neglected

You might remember that I reviewed Soccer Manager 2019 – a free-to-play single-player game currently available on Steam and other platforms – a couple of weeks ago. That game wasn’t very good, but plenty of you seemed to be interested in my review, which attracted nearly 100 unique views in its first 24 hours. For a relatively new blog like Fuller FM, those numbers are quite impressive.

Today, I’m going to be looking at the multiplayer game that spawned SM19. Soccer Manager Worlds is one of the biggest online football management games around, with over 1 million users logging in every month. I myself have been playing that game since 2007… but not anymore.

This is the story of what happens when a video game developer horribly neglects its most popular title. Continue reading “Soccer Manager Worlds: Game, Neglected”
