If you’ve missed the last few chapters of “Lyn On Me”, you could be excused for feeling like Troy in that alternative timeline scene from the American comedy series “Community”. Things have been going spectacularly wrong for Lyn 1896 since they came within minutes of reaching last season’s promotion play-offs!

I’ll try not to spoil too much for those who haven’t yet read the most recent excerpt, but Lyn are at the wrong end of the 2. divisjon table, and Marit Enstad’s job is on the line. If the final five games go badly, then – to quote the British dream pop band The Sundays – here’s where the story ends.

You know your Football Manager blog save has taken on a whole new meaning when your virtual players start tweeting you in real-life. That’s what happened to me on Monday evening, while I was watching the FIFA Women’s World Cup match between France and Nigeria (incidentally, Norway were playing South Korea at the same time).

Do you remember from a few chapters ago that I mentioned Oskar Hansen ‘liking’ one of my tweets. Well, Oskar actually tweeted me on Monday to say how much he loved reading this story! Then, about half an hour later, Marius Østvold replied to a tweet promoting the previous chapter, which was… a bit surreal, in a good way!

So thank you very much, Oskar and Marius, for getting in touch and showing your support for this story. Now I’ll wait patiently for Tor Fritzøe Östman to tell me how much he hates being at Rosenborg and then ask me to bring him back to Lyn 1896. Tor is a real player, right?

Welcome to the 100th post on Fuller FM. Has it really been eight months since I started sharing my Football Manager 2019 adventures with anyone interested in reading about them? Regardless of whether you’ve been here from the start, or this is your introduction to the blog, thank you very much for visiting.

Now… where were we?

Ah, yes. It’s almost summer 2020, but the sun isn’t exactly shining on Lyn 1896 right now. Some early-season defensive disasters have left Marit Enstad’s team closer to the 2. divisjon relegation zone than the promotion places. I’ve been blogging for nearly eight months now. Do you know what the most-viewed article on Fuller FM is? Season 2, Part 2 of “Floreat Salopia”, which has already had close to 1,000 unique views.

The signs, then, are promising for Season 2, Part 2 of “Lyn On Me”. Marit Enstad’s sophomore season at Lyn 1896 has begun with an influx of signings who could hopefully lead them towards promotion after last year’s near-miss. Welcome – or should I say, velkommen – to the second season of my latest Football Manager 2019 career in Norway.

Marit Enstad’s first year as manager of Lyn 1896 could not have gone much better. Taking charge of a team who’d just gone up to the 2. divisjon, she almost pulled off back-to-back promotions. Alas, Lyn just fell short of the play-off places on goal difference, but expectations will no doubt have been heightened for the 2020 season.

We’ve now come to the end of Marit Enstad’s first season as manager of Lyn 1896 on Football Manager 2019. Having taken the reins following the former Norwegian champions’ promotion to the 2. divisjon, could she make an immediate impact and take them further up the leagues?

This post will recap Lyn’s fortunes in the league and the Cupen during the 2019 campaign. As ever with my end-of-season reviews, I’ll also provide some player statistics and reveal who won the club’s awards (SPOILER: one player claimed a hat-trick). Welcome to the latest part of this new Football Manager 2019 adventure. Lyn have enjoyed a decent start to the 2. divisjon season, which you can read about here in case you missed the previous chapter.

Today’s installment will take you through the middle part of the 2019 season. That will include the mid-season break and transfer window, where there’s a possibility that a couple of the club’s hottest prospects could be poached by bigger Norwegian clubs.

Welcome back. It’s good to see that so many of you are already following along with this new Football Manager 2019 story. As much as I enjoyed managing Fiorentina, and as much as I enjoyed managing Shrewsbury Town (okay… for the most part), this is already shaping up to be my most enjoyable career on FM19 yet.
